Day Two | Tuesday

GOD IS WITH US

“And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken! … They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

Jeremiah 1:8, 19 (NLT)

Some say that fear is a lack of faith, but it may be more accurate to say that fear is misplaced faith. We all place our faith in something, but fear rises when we trust in something or someone we don’t truly believe can take care of us.

Before I became a follower of Christ, I was a scared, anxious boy. When I trusted my life to Jesus, I began to sense two messages from God’s Spirit as I got to know Him through reading the Bible and praying. Those messages were: I am with you, and I will take care of you. Though the anxiety didn’t immediately go away, it immediately began to subside, and anxiety didn’t keep me from facing my fears.

The knowledge that God notices me, that He is with me, and He will take care of me has given me assurance to take steps of faith when I might typically be too cautious to move forward. God is with you today!

APPLICATION: Read the words of Jeremiah 1:8 and 19 again and receive it as a message from God to you.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for being with me. Grow my trust that You will truly take care of me.
